Stars

Stars is not the kind of T-shirt I’m normally drawn to…but I like it for some reason. It’s available for £60 from Folk Clothing.

Ochiwata

02/2/2010 10:20

The Ochiwata T-shirt by MUJI might look like a plain T-shirt when in fact, it is anything but plain. What makes this tee so fascinating is not how it looks (although I do love the variance of color within it); instead, it is the story behind it that makes it special. Each of these T-shirts is made from cotton fibers which were dropped during the yarning process…and it is that aspect that gave the shirts their name — “ochiwata” means “dropped cotton fibers” in Japanese. It’s a utilitarian and eco-friendly dream come true. I could go on and on about how much I love MUJI in general, but I’ll save all that for another time and place. Right now, I’m all about this T-shirt. And it’s very special price of just $14.75.

Pantone 15-1157 TP

pantone15-1157tp

Pantone 15-1157 TP is no longer just a pantone chip…it’s also a T-shirt! If you don’t know anything about Pantone, the brief explanation on this tee’s product page will probably suffice; it states, “Pantone codes give each color a specific ID number, which is an indispensable technical parameter in the process of fabric dying.” This shirt is part of a series put out by Shanghai Quality Yarn T-shirt and is designed by Yan Hu. I suppose only a designer or someone who works with Pantone chips might want to wear something like this; it’s a novel concept with limited appeal but it works really well for what it is. It definitely falls into a designerd (design + nerd) category…which is a category yours truly dwells comfortably in.

Yetee

yeteeshirt

Yetis, as I’ve stated before, are awesome. If yetis are awesome and T-shirts are awesome, it then follows that yeti T-shirts are (you guessed it…) awesome. This yeti T-shirt, however, is much more than just a yeti T-shirt. It’s a Yetee: half yeti, half T-shirt. There is no ink anywhere on this tee – just fabric – resulting in an extremely tactile beast living on the front of your shirt. Created by the Hungarian duo known as EyeBone, this Yetee is available online in their Etsy shop, where they sell a number of equally adorable plushies. The Yetee is the only T-shirt they currently have available but you might be able to score it in a different colorway / size if you send them an email inquiring about it. I can hardly wait to add this to my arsenal.
