Facebook: Where Everybody Knows Your Name. It’s a great slogan for the website, actually. This comes from BustedTees but, unlike a lot of their other T-shirts, this one is more of a mash-up than a parody; it can be both, of course. I just find it more clever than funny. If the type treatment didn’t immediately recall [in your mind] watching episodes of Cheers, then the slogan surely must have. It’s part of the show’s theme song — unquestionably, one of the best theme songs ever. If you still didn’t get the reference, then I can only assume that you’ve never watched Cheers…in which case: you should really get to it. Facebook is a fascinating social media phenomenon; if you use it and enjoy reading this blog, please consider becoming a fan. [The page is bare for now, but I promise to garden it! It will be a good way to find out about this and other collective projects. Thanks in advance!] In any case, it’s the Cheers reference and typography of this Facebook T-shirt that really reels me in.
