Script Ohio is another Homage Clothing joint that I’m in love with. It’s well known that the Ohio State University Marching Band (supposedly the largest all-brass and percussion band in the world) performs Script Ohio – their signature formation – at home games. It’s a tradition that’s over 70 years old and is perhaps the most identifiable trademark associated with Ohio State Football and the OSU Marching Band. I haven’t yet witnessed it in person and am not exactly a football fanatic, college or otherwise…so my reasons for loving this T-shirt are few. But I do love it. Here’s why: the typography is beautiful, it references an extraordinary (and longstanding) tradition, and I’ve always had an affinity for Ohio. I admit that my last reason is somewhat strange given that I’ve never been there. It’s true, though. I hope to visit. And when I do, I want to wear my own Script Ohio tee – or at least have one in my possession by then.
