Supplement
Question: is it possible for a T-shirt to be candid? Answer: no. But a person can wear a T-shirt that speaks candidly about its wearer. I think. Well, whatever. The point is that TypeTees recently released this seemingly candid tee stating, “I supplement my personality with witty shirts.” The copy, coined by Johnathan Yen, is set in Futura and followed by a cute little pie-chart illustrating the concept. I can’t help but pick up on a subtle hint of self-loathing in this. Self-deprecating though it may be, it feels honest… and I respect that. There are tons of ironic T-shirts floating around so I’m sure there is plenty of room for un-ironic T-shirts like this one.
