Pizzeria Delfina: Golden Gate

Pizzeria Delfina is a San Francisco based pizzeria with good food, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. On my first visit there a couple of months ago, I spotted this tee hanging on their wall and had to buy it. This T-shirt marries two things I love (for different reasons): the Golden Gate Bridge and pizza. I’m also a sucker for tees that are location or business-specific… and well-designed to boot. The reason for that isn’t necessarily that I’m eager to promote said location or business, although that’s often the case. It’s because T-shirts are more than just canvases; they are a powerful medium. In this way, they tell a story – not of fiction, but of reality – and therefore serve as a kind of public record. Regardless, this is a solid T-shirt. It’s one of three designs available for purchase at PD; the other two incorporate the Transamerica building and the BART, respectively. These tees aren’t available online, so you’ll have to stop by one of Pizzeria Delfina’s two locations here in SF if you want to buy one. Oh, and one last thing: promotional tees get a bad rap as they tend towards being obnoxious. This one avoids that pitfall by having “Pizzeria Delfina | SF” printed small and placed unobtrusively on the back, a few inches below the neck.
