Brain Records

This Brain Records tribute T-shirt was printed by Swedish Columbia and consists solely of Brain Records’ typographic logo and tagline. Unfortunately, they’re all sold out. I know… I’m bummed, too. In any case, I don’t know if I listen to enough Krautrock to don this tee without feeling like a poser. I look forward to more prints – historical or otherwise – from SweDC.

The Standard

Some T-shirt lovers frown upon logo tees. I, myself, am not sure how I feel about them. But here’s what I am sure of: if a logo looks good by itself (in other words, if a logo is well-designed…) then it will look good on a T-shirt. The Standard Hotels is a great example of a company with a simple, solid and memorable logotype. I suppose it would only make sense to purchase one of these if you were ever a guest at one of their hotels… but, as a T-shirt lover and connoisseur of fine design, I believe there are exceptions to this rule. You can Shop The Standard here – where they have this T-shirt and others in various colorways.

Inspired by unsuccessful internet image searches, this T-shirt may only appeal to the nerds who read this (and the nerd who writes this, of course). The type placement, print on the inside of the tee, and subtle irony make this a winner. Printed and made available by Free Gold Watch.
